Courtney wanted photos of her family with her parents and her sister this time. And, what better time than now to capture these precious memories! Time flies and we sure can’t get these times back. If you haven’t had your family photographed recently, please make it part of your new year’s resolution to get it done!

Courtney and her family ended up with lots of awesome portraits on their CD, and here is the collage I made for them. I was pleased when they ordered 3 of these as 20x20s. I can’t wait to see a photo of them hanging in their homes for them to treasure forever.

This time, we decided to visit a local fire station and take photos with a fire truck and some fireman gear. The boys got to pretend they were driving the fire truck and they even got to wear some fireman boots and a helmet.

Derin said he wanted awesome pictures of him and his daughter as they’ve not ever had any together… just the two of them… dad and daughter. Having three daughters myself, I think it’s very important for girls to have these sweet memories with their daddies captured to cherish for years to come. I was very thrilled to work with Derin and Bre and I’m happy to present them with their amazing pictures together. I also suggested to Derin that he may want to purchase a collage of their favorite images. Collages are great ways to display several awesome portraits from the session in one large portrait, so I custom created one for them. If you’re interested in a collage from your session, just let me know.

Sessions will be held at a beautiful location with huge trees, leaves on the ground, a log and tall grasses… perfect for fall portraits!

Sessions are 25 minutes long and are $150 (plus tax) and include a $100 print credit and the CD of the images you purchase. Collages, Accordion Albums and additional portraits on CD will also be available for purchase.

Session Times are 4:30, 5:00, 5:30, 6:00, 6:30 on Saturday and Sunday. Click here to schedule and pay for your session. Session will not be scheduled until payment is received.

So, I met Lindsey and her (3) siblings at the park to photograph their 6 kiddos together. It was fun trying to capture all of their personalities as they ran about playing. I had to wait to post their portraits for Grandma’s surprise, but I’ve heard that she loves them and that I can post them.

We had a great time playing as Kason and Asher brought a baseball bat, gloves, baseballs, a football helmet and a football.

Lindsey, thank you for having me capture these memories of your boys at this time in your lives. I’m sure your hubby will adore this amazing gift!

And, the Brown family certainly is busy! Keeley competes in cheerleading meets and Kailyn competes in dance meets… usually out of town! They are both very skilled in their areas as they have both earned trophies, which they brought so we could photograph. Kenzi is a very sweet three-year-old who brought her baby doll for me to meet. I absolutely love including special items in photo sessions!

Krissa, thank you for choosing me to help preserve these special times in your family’s life. You did a great job choosing the colors and outfits for everyone! I very much enjoyed our time together photographing your family and your adorable girls. I know you’ll treasure these portraits for many years to come.

Kayla sells Thirty-One Gifts and she brought a lot of their fun products to the photo session. The family sat on one of their roll-up blankets, and she used their large totes to carry all of her girls’ things. Finally, she brought the girls Easter Basket Bags to be included in their bright, springy photos. If you’re interested in any of these fun items, you should contact her!

If not now… then when?

Everyone is so very busy with all of the responsibilities they have in their lives. Work, home, family, groceries, laundry, activities… etc… it all takes so much time to keep caught up with everything that needs to be done. It doesn’t ever seem like I am “caught up”… but I am always busy! I’m sure you feel the same way.

Life’s responsibilities leave little time for the things we “want” to do or extra little things we always say we “need” to do, but things we don’t always get to.

Like family photos.

Family photos are one of the things that is sometimes very hard to find the time or make the time to have done. You have to schedule the time when each family member doesn’t already have something planned; then you have to shop for clothes; you worry about your hair and your weight and your wrinkles; then you have to choose your favorites.

I know… it is not an easy thing to do! I experienced just this when my family had our portraits made this past fall. It’s easy to say you’re too busy and you’ll do it next year; or you’ll do it when the weather is warmer, or cooler, or less windy; you want to wait until you lose those 20 pounds; or you want to wait until your 2-year-old will “cooperate”.

And, I must say that when it came time for our photo session, I changed my mind about all our outfits the day before our session, the weather was a bit chillier than I had hoped for, and my 3-year-old was not in the mood; but you know what? I absolutely love my family photos.

Let me encourage you to NOT wait any longer! None of us are promised another day. Your family loves you for who you are… wrinkles, extra pounds and all the things we see as imperfections. Pictures aren’t to capture a “perfect” you; they are to preserve memories. If the 2-year-old only wants to eat candy and play with their favorite toy, who says a perfect picture is only them perfect posed looking right into the camera? Believe me… my 3-year-old does NOT like to sit still and look exactly into the lens when I am taking her picture. Does this mean those pictures of her playing aren’t to be treasured? The photos of her being herself are my favorites and will be my favorite memories of her personality. And, how many of you moms take all of the pictures of your kids, so you are not in any of them? Don’t you want your kiddos to have a picture of them with their Momma?

You may not have another springtime or fall to have a family picture with all the members of your family. You never know what is going to happen. Cancer is evil and it seems to be all around us. Car wrecks and accidents happen each and every day.

If something were to happen to a member of your family and when death does occur… wouldn’t you wish for and don’t you cling to favorite photos of you together? And, it’s not always the posed, perfect photos… most likely it is of a favorite time or event.

If not now… then when?
