Welcome to janaDpix photography!
Growing up in the Texas Panhandle, I loved looking into the beautiful sunsets that are a hallmark of this area. The interesting thing about a sunset is the way light refracts as it makes its way to the earth. Even as a child, I was amazed by the power of light.
I earned bachelor's and master's degrees in education with an emphasis in instructional technology from West Texas A&M University. Working as an IT specialist teaching technology courses for several years provided me a solid base and foundation for all things digital, such as Photoshop. Being in the education field and knowing the importance of education, my husband and I made the decision that I would home school our children.
Being a stay at home (home school) mom has been one of the most rewarding and challenging jobs of my life! It is difficult for any woman to remain engaged in professional activities, network, and continue to learn while also being 'all things mom.' As my children have aged over time, I see the importance of capturing each milestone in their life and in the life of my family. Time and time again, I found myself working hard and needing a creative outlet for my skills.
Enter the realm of photography and all things digital! I quickly realized that I had a passion for intermingling digital crossroads by taking pictures. I have read many books by today's top talent, worked with some amazing photographers, and studied tirelessly on my own to create my photography craft. I have overcome the steep learning curve required in today's digital age. I continue to aggressively monitor trending curves in an effort to offer the most unique, personalized products and services to my clients.
I offer custom photography services and products including, but not limited to, the following categories: maternity, newborn, baby, kid, senior, couple/engagement, wedding, pet, family and event. I also teach photography workshops. Please contact me if you have a photography need outside these areas and we'll chat about possibilities!
Those West Texas sunsets that held my attention as a young girl still captivate me, but, now, I have an opportunity to capture them as well! Although I do maintain an indoor studio at Las Tiendas for some of my work, I am mostly a natural light photographer. I invite you to come be a part of a photography experience that you won't soon forget. And hey, by participating in one of my Bloom workshops, you can learn how to better capture some of the digital magic yourself!
